Level 2 C&G Certificate of Competence in Tractor Driving and Related Operations - Liverpool

About the course

Brief Description of the Course:

This course covers safe driving of a tractor, pre-use maintenance, safety checks and recognition of controls and instruments. The Course and Assessment will cover the use of the tractor in a range of situations: driving safely and correctly around a suitable course (including reversing with a trailer), trailer hitching, attaching 3-point linkage and Power Take Off (PTO) driven attachments. There is an optional unit that covers the use of a tractor fitted with a front-end loader.

Entry Requirements:

A keen interest in horticulture, ground-keeping or green-keeping.

Course Units:

The course programme will cover the legal, safety and operator requirements for:

· Safe use of the tractor and machinery

· Operator maintenance

· Operating/Driving safely

· PTO operation

· Trailed implements and trailers

· Three point linkages

· Front end loaders (Optional)

Learning and Assessment:

This practical course is delivered to include all the outcomes listed and assessed independently of the training day.

Assessment is held on a separate day (Usually/ideally the following week).

All Assessment fees are included in Course fee/funding.

To gain the qualification you must complete a practical test with one-to-one questioning

Course Fees:

The cost of this course is usually £395. However, thanks to funding from Liverpool City Region Combined Authority, Liverpool, Wirral, Sefton, Knowsley, Halton and St Helens residents age 19+ are eligible for funding to pay for all this course, including assessment fees.

PLEASE NOTE THIS COURSE CANNOT BE FUNDED FOR APPLICANTS ON A FULL TIME FURTHER EDUCATION COURSE OR APPRENTICESHIP.

Additional Information:

Please bring safety footwear and suitable outdoor clothing.
