About the role

Are you passionate about governance, with a proven track record of working at a senior level in the public or private sector? If so, this could be the opportunity for you.

We are seeking an exceptional Director of Governance to support the Corporation in ensuring the highest standards of governance, compliance, and accountability. This is a vital appointment for Myerscough College and University Centre, working with the Board and senior leaders to directly influence the College’s future setting the standard in governance and shaping the future of education.

Your role will include:

  • Advising the Corporation and Committees on their powers, responsibilities, and procedures.
  • Facilitating communication on governance matters between the Chair, Principal and Chief Executive, staff and external agencies.
  • Planning and servicing the cycle of meetings, producing agendas, minutes, and action lists.
  • Supporting governor succession planning, inductions, and ongoing professional development.
  • Maintaining registers of interests, codes of conduct, and governance records.
  • Acting as a trusted and impartial advisor to ensure lawful, ethical, and effective decision-making.

Hours:
22.2 hours per week (which will include some evening working on Tuesdays and Wednesdays). Flexible working including working from home is available, with a minimum requirement of attendance in college one day per week.
