Myerscough successfully defended the Elite Academy Basketball League crown they won last year, taking the spoils at the Wildcats Arena.

Their side, made up of students Ayo Ibirinde, Junior Sanchez, Zach Trezvant and Harry Sheehan, beat Derby Trailblazers in a tight men's final 22-19.

3x3 is a simplified version of 5x5 basketball, played with one hoop, on half a court and with six players.

Games are on period of ten minutes long, have a 12-second shot-clock and half no time or quarters. The first team to score 21 points wins, or the first to score two points in overtime.

It’s been a trophy-laden season for Myerscough.

Earlier this year Myerscough were crowned Elite Academy Basketball League champions as well as reaching the Superfinal of the European Youth Basketball League.

The season then continued with another national title, winning the AoC Sport National Cup.
