Equine Studies
At Myerscough Equine, our exceptional facilities provide the perfect environment for students to develop their skills, knowledge and confidence. Designed to reflect professional industry standards, our purpose-built equestrian centre offers outstanding opportunities for practical learning, training and industry-focused experience.
Our facilities include an international-standard indoor arena, additional indoor and outdoor riding arenas, professional stable yards, specialist equine laboratories, a horse walker, hydrotherapy spa and dedicated practical teaching area. Students also have access to cutting-edge technology, including two equine simulators—one specialising in dressage and one in eventing—allowing riders to develop technique, balance and confidence in a safe, controlled environment.
Supported by a team of highly trained and experienced equine professionals, students benefit from expert guidance, knowledge and support throughout their learning journey. Our staff bring a wealth of industry experience, ensuring that practical sessions are delivered to the highest standards and provide valuable insight into the modern equine sector.

Chloe Calderbank - Dressage performance coach and trainer
After completing her Level 2 Diploma in Horse Care and Level 3 Extended Diploma at Myerscough College, Chloe Calderbank went on to build a successful career in the equine industry and now runs her own business, Chloe Calderbank Rider Performance Coaching. Chloe credits Myerscough with providing the knowledge, practical skills, and industry experience that helped launch her career, as well as lifelong friendships and professional connections. Since leaving college, Chloe has worked at several prestigious equestrian establishments, gaining experience in top-level dressage and working alongside Team GBR riders. She has travelled to national and international competitions, developed her skills as a groom and rider, and worked with elite horses and industry professionals.

Eleanor Boden - Chief Exec & Manager Scottish Racing Academy
Eleanor began her equine journey at Myerscough College, completing a Level 3 National Diploma in Horse Management before progressing to a degree programme. Now leading the Scottish Racing Academy, Eleanor oversees training provision, employer engagement, and industry partnerships, helping to develop the next generation of racing professionals.
Eleanor is also actively involved in several national committees focused on diversity, inclusion, recruitment, and workforce development within the equine and racing industries. Following a successful career in the industry and as a Senior Lecturer at Myerscough College, Eleanor has continued her academic journey and has recently submitted her PhD research exploring the experiences of young people entering the horse racing industry.

As part of their course, students gain valuable hands-on industry experience through Internal work placements on the Myerscough College equine yards. Students complete a full yard duty shift from 9:00am–5:00pm. A Rota is produced at the start of the year with the students allocated weekend yardS for the entire academic year, this will help them develop practical skills, professionalism, and work ethic expected within the equine industry.
