Initial Teacher Education Manager (Internal Applicants Only) – Preston based

About the role

We are seeking an inspiring and innovative educational leader to join Myerscough College as our Initial Teacher Education Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of teaching excellence across the College by leading our Initial Teacher Education provision and supporting the development of current and future teaching professionals.

Working closely with curriculum teams and senior leaders, you will provide strategic direction for teacher education, drive continuous improvement in teaching, learning and assessment, and cultivate a culture of research-informed practice, innovation and professional development. You will lead the delivery and quality assurance of our Initial Teacher Education programmes, including the Learning and Skills Teacher Level 5 Apprenticeship and internal teacher development pathways.

The role offers a unique opportunity to influence teaching practice across the organisation, champion the effective use of educational technology and AI, develop mentoring and coaching initiatives, and play a key role in ensuring the College remains at the forefront of teacher training and professional learning. You will also act as the College's lead for Initial Teacher Education inspection activity, helping to ensure our provision is fully prepared for external review and recognised for its excellence.

This position would suit an experienced teacher educator or educational leader with a passion for developing others, a commitment to outstanding learner outcomes, and the vision to drive innovation and excellence across the College.
