Students will compete in eight fixtures against some of the top schools and cricket programmes in and around Cape Town, providing an outstanding opportunity to test themselves in different conditions and against high-quality opposition.

Alongside the cricket, students will experience some of South Africa’s most iconic attractions, including a boat trip and guided tour of Robben Island, a cable car ride to the summit of Table Mountain, time at the beautiful Camps Bay, watching a match at the famous Newlands Cricket Ground, and a jeep safari at Aquila Game Reserve in search of the legendary Big Five.

Myerscough tutor Andrew Massey is organising the trip and said: ‘’We are delighted to announce that in 2027, Myerscough College will once again be heading to South Africa for what promises to be an unforgettable cricket and cultural experience.

‘’This time, we will be taking two squads to the incredible city of Cape Town for an action-packed 11-day tour that will challenge, inspire, and develop our students both on and off the field.

‘’Tours like this play a huge role in the development of our learners. Beyond the cricket, they help students grow in confidence, independence, teamwork, resilience, and professionalism. Experiencing different cultures and environments broadens perspectives and creates memories and friendships that last a lifetime

‘’The opportunity also has a major impact on both our academic and cricket provision at Old Trafford, strengthening the overall student experience and reinforcing our commitment to providing elite-level opportunities that support personal growth, sporting excellence, and education together.’’
