MyStar awards recognise top Myerscough staff

Teaching and support staff have been recognised in our latest Myerscough ‘MyStar’ awards.

Our MyStar Awards recognise staff who have gone above and beyond their expectations.

The latest winners are:

Michelle Fairclough – Inclusive Learning Advisor, Foundation Learning

Nomination comments: ‘Michelle goes above and beyond for all students and staff, often helping staff prep vital resources and buying items for lessons she’s not even in to help colleagues.’

‘She is friendly and polite and you can always rely on her to help with everything. The students adore her and we would be lost without her.’

‘Michelle gives her all to the foundation learning department and is our go to person for everything!’

Tom Selby – lecturer, and interim centre manager, Croxteth

‘He has done far more than expected and always looks after us as a team, ensuring our mental health is a priority.

‘He is an amazing teacher, leader, and instrumental in a crisis and consistently goes above and beyond for both students and staff.

‘Tom has stepped up as centre manager and there has really bought a set of great qualities to our team, a positive work environment and keeping staff morale high.’

Cameron Rutherford - Engineering Technician, Work-based Learning

‘Cameron has gone above and beyond in his role as a technician, coach and in his work with the EPA (End Point Assessment) process, where he got 80 learners through in 2023.’

‘He has worked closely with the EPA team and assessors on both written and practical work and taken responsibility for paperwork and tracking of results. This has been vital is achieving a 100% pass rate for these learners with 80% achieving higher grades.’

‘He is an integral cog in the work-based learning department. His professionalism embodies Myerscough values in all he does.’
