Myerscough coach given ECB Award for Outstanding Service to Cricket in Lancashire

A Myerscough College cricket coach has been given the Outstanding Services to Coaching Award for Lancashire as part of the England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) Coach Awards 2021.

Richard Fox-Andrews will now contest the national title after being recognised for his efforts within the county over the last 24 years, which in addition to being Assistant Head of Sport at Myerscough’s Preston centre, includes going the extra mile to inspire players at grassroots level.

This includes coaching at a local club, Longridge CC, where Richard is Head Coach. He is a qualified Level 3 ECB Coach, and Coach Developer/Assessor, helping to deliver high level coaching, increasing parent engagement and supporting coaches develop their own practice.

Richard said: ‘’I am delighted that I have won the the Outstanding Services to Coaching award for Lancashire as part of the ECB Coach Awards.
‘’It is totally unexpected and would like to thank all those who have been part of my coaching journey over the past 24 years.’’

The recipient of the ECB Outstanding Contribution – Services to Coaching Award is someone who is the life and soul of a club or league, and who have dedicated a significant amount of time to coaching and have contributed to growing the game, making a different to the players and contributing to increasing participation

The ECB’s annual reward and recognition scheme says thank you to people that have made a significant contribution to cricket, coaching and the development of coaches. The awards are a fantastic way to acknowledge and reward coaches who have made a particularly positive impact in the game and deserve recognition for it.
