The state-of-the-art Racewood Eventing Simulator is housed at the heart of Myerscough’s International Equine Arena, and is the most advanced equestrian simulator available today, capable of simulating everything from authentic Grand Prix dressage movements like Piaffe and Passage, to jumping grid work and tackling technical combinations on cross-country courses.

Myerscough’s Racewood Eventing simulator has been christened ‘Flo’, and is one of only a handful of simulators of its type in the world.

Take a look at Flo in action, here:

Flo now proudly sits alongside Frankie, Myerscough’s existing riding simulator, which has already helped many students develop their core riding skills, balance and posture.

Simone Collinge, equine lecturer at Myerscough, said: ‘’Flo is ideal for eventing training and alongside Frankie, will aid students in their ability to work horses over fences, where maybe they’ve not got that experience with their own horses.

‘’It gives us more scope for our students who are inexperienced in jumping and a wide range of students are able to access the simulator.

‘’It also massively improves our horse welfare as students are learning, and making mistakes, on Flo, getting to grips with the movement of a horse, rather than initially on an actual horse.’’

Equipped with cutting-edge motion control technology, Flo can replicate jumps up to 1.20m in height and moves in ways no other simulator can match. The simulators wide range of features offers the opportunity for riders to train to the highest level of precision and performance.

With the capability to provide feedback on rein contact, balance in the saddle and leg contact, the simulator plays an important role in equine welfare through the improvement of skills, through cutting-edge rider analysis, supporting students in developing the skills for advanced careers in the sector.
