Qualification Objective:

The Pearson BTEC Level 3 Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Technical Knowledge) suite of qualifications have been developed through close collaboration with the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Apprenticeship Employer Group, professional bodies and other awarding organisations. The qualifications are for learners who are working in, or who are intending to work in, the role of mechatronics maintenance technician.

The qualifications give learners the opportunity to:

  • study mandatory units, including the following topics: communication for engineering technicians, mathematics for engineering technicians and health and safety in the engineering workplace
  • develop the knowledge, understanding and skills required in areas such as calculus, engineering drawing, vehicle engine systems and business operations in engineering
  • develop a range of positive attitudes and professional attributes that support successful performance in the manufacturing engineering work environment
  • achieve a nationally-recognised Level 3 qualification

Purpose of the Pearson BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Motorsport) (Development Technical Knowledge) - to be delivered at Myerscough College over 1 year for existing students:

The Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Motorsport) has been designed to meet the needs of learners who wish to acquire specialist skills and knowledge in the motorsport area. Learners complete a mix of more general engineering units alongside specialist motorsport units, focusing on areas such as vehicle petrol injection systems and vehicle electronic ignition systems.

Purpose of the Pearson BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Motorsport) (Development Technical Knowledge) – to be delivered over 2 years:

The Level 3 Extended Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Motorsport) has been designed for learners, providers or employers who wish to complete a larger size qualification as part of their on-programme delivery and assessment activity, or as part of a standalone programme of study. The larger size will enable learners to select a greater number of optional units in their specialist areas as required by their employers and will also enable easier progression to higher education.
