Level 1 CG Diploma Employability Skills

About the course

This programme is designed to introduce learners to the different types of jobs that are available, how to find and apply for them and the requirements of the workplace. Students will work on developing key employability and life skills helping them to increase their confidence and independence. They will be encouraged to work towards their next steps and develop plans to help them progress and develop new skills. Alongside the assessed units, students will work on developing key life skills to help prepare for the future. This qualification is ideal for students who want to build confidence, gain work skills, and prepare for future careers or internships. Students will learn how to: Work effectively with others Develop confidence, communication skills and independence Understand employer expectations Maths and English: Students will complete Maths and English at the required level based on their prior attainment.

Entry requirements & additional information

To be working towards GCSE grades in Maths and English.
Students take part in a variety of teaching and learning activities. Assessment methods such as written statements, candidate produced posters, annotated research and photographs and witnessed activities are used to build a unit portfolio. There are no final exams.
Students who have completed the Level 1 Employability Course progress to a variety of options including Level 2 provision across the college and the Supported Internship. Students may progress to voluntary opportunities, paid employment or community organisations.
