About the course
The ASDAN Level 1 course helps learners develop practical life skills, confidence and independence while preparing for adulthood, further education and employment. Activities link closely to EHCP outcomes where applicable, Functional Skills in English and Maths, and Preparation for Adulthood goals.

To apply for the L1 ASDAN course, students need have passed EL3 Maths and English.
For each unit students complete a variety of different assessment activities that contribute to their overall assessed work. This includes written statements, witnessed activities, practical demonstrations of skills (e.g. safe food handling) and learner produced posters or visual displays.
On completion of the Level 1 ASDAN course, some students may progress to the Supported Internship programme. Some learners use this as a transition out of College accessing a variety of services or volunteer opportunities.
