Food Innovation Kitchen

Our unique Food Innovation Kitchen and product development laboratories enable raw materials to be developed into value added products – from cheese and yoghurts to ice creams and ready meals.

The FFIT Centre has dedicated commercial kitchen facilities available for long or short term hire, alongside ample storage facilities (dry and cold) for raw materials and finished products. If you’re looking to trial a new product, expand production or host demonstration events for customers or buyers, we have the flexibility to meet your needs.

Case Study: Bake That

Tom Weston is owner of ‘Bake That’, a start-up business with office space in the College’s Rural Business Incubator Centre.

"We started ‘Bake that’ in October 2017, with the idea of creating pre-portioned monthly baking recipe boxes. The FFIT Centre has been fantastic, enabling us to use the meeting rooms to present to investors and buyers whilst using the industrial kitchen to showcase our recipes.

The space was crucial for the growth of the concept of our business and provided us we the perfect place to explore our early ideas and we continue to use it for both recipe development and the product packaging. The space would also be perfect for training chefs and events like baking and butchery masterclasses."
