The visit offered students the opportunity to explore various departments across the zoo, including the Animal Central Kitchen, where they learned how meals are prepared for hundreds of species, and the Education Team, which plays a vital role in community engagement and conservation awareness.

Students also explored other key areas of zoo operations, from animal husbandry and veterinary care to guest services and facilities management.

This immersive experience highlighted the diverse career paths available in the zoo and wildlife sector, demonstrating that it’s not just about working directly with animals—roles in logistics, education, and visitor experience are equally crucial.

The trip also helped students develop important employability skills such as teamwork, communication, and time management, all essential for a successful future in the animal industry.

The visit formed part of Myerscough’s ongoing commitment to providing real-world learning experiences that inspire and prepare students for their chosen career paths.
