Myerscough’s apprenticeship provision shortlisted in Educate North Awards

Myerscough College is delighted to have received a nomination in the 2024 Educate North Awards.

The Educate North Awards is a prestigious awards event, which celebrates, recognises and shares best practice and excellence in the education sector in the North, and is now in its tenth year.

Myerscough College is a finalist in the UK Apprenticeship Award category - an award for the organisation that can demonstrate an extraordinary commitment to developing apprenticeships and widening participation amongst education institutions in the North. Entrants must be able to detail their how apprenticeships fit into the wider strategy of their organisation and the steps in place to create a diverse team of apprentices.

The winners will be announced at the ceremony in Manchester on April 18.

Myerscough’s apprenticeship provision was also celebrated with a nomination in the same category last year, while Myerscough won overall Further Education College of the Year at the event in 2022.

The 10th event will bring together the North’s leading institutions and organisations across Higher, Further and Sixth Form sectors to celebrate world class achievements, developments, and success.

‘’This event marks a wonderful milestone,’’ said Emeritus Professor Phil Harris, Chairman of the Judges.

‘’We launched in 2015 with the ambition of showing the North and the wider world how vibrant, diverse and important the education sector is in the region and to celebrate and encourage breakthrough, innovation and excellence.

‘’2024 will be a superb event and an important one as we enter a further period of change and political uncertainty against a backdrop of a General Election in the UK. But we have inspiring people and organisations that will lead that change and make a difference.’’

Creator, Rob McLoughlin OBE added: ‘’The 10th event is a wonderful achievement and moment.

‘’Education needs political and public support like never before and this Northern showcase has grown and grown thanks to a unique combination of committed judges from across business and academia.

‘’We look forward to celebrating all the nominees.’’
