Myerscough’s apprenticeship provision shortlisted for two Educate North Awards
Published: Tuesday 10 March 2026Myerscough College is delighted to have received two nominations in the 2026 Educate North Awards.
The Educate North Awards is a prestigious awards event, which celebrates, recognises and shares best practice and excellence in the education sector in the North, and is now in its twelfth year.
Myerscough College is a finalist in the Apprenticeship Award category - an award for the organisation that can demonstrate an extraordinary commitment to developing apprenticeships and widening participation amongst education institutions in the North. Entrants must be able to detail their how apprenticeships fit into the wider strategy of their organisation and the steps in place to create a diverse team of apprentices.
Meanwhile, landscaping apprentice Arche Matthews is a finalist in the category of College or FE Student Achievement of the Year – following a phenomenal personal year while studying a Level 2 Horticulture Operative Apprenticeship Standard programme. Over the last year Archie has won a gold medal at the prestigious WorldSkills finals, and was named as the national winner in the BALI (British Association of Landscape Industries) Chalk Student of the Year competition, in the Landscape and Horticulture category.
The winners will be announced at the ceremony in Emirates Old Trafford Manchester on May 7.
Myerscough’s apprenticeship provision was also celebrated with a nomination in the same category in 20223, while Myerscough won overall Further Education College of the Year at the event in 2022.
