The Educate North Awards is a prestigious awards event, which celebrates, recognises and shares best practice and excellence in the education sector in the North, and is now in its twelfth year.

Myerscough College was a finalist in the Apprenticeship Award category - an award for the organisation that can demonstrate an extraordinary commitment to developing apprenticeships and widening participation amongst education institutions in the North.

Meanwhile, landscaping apprentice Arche Matthews was a finalist in the category of College or FE Student Achievement of the Year – following a phenomenal personal year while studying a Level 2 Horticulture Operative Apprenticeship Standard programme. Over the last year Archie has won a gold medal at the prestigious WorldSkills finals, and was named as the national winner in the BALI (British Association of Landscape Industries) Chalk Student of the Year competition, in the Landscape and Horticulture category.

The sector’s best were celebrated last week at a prestigious ceremony on Manchester.

The Educate North Awards launched in 2015 with the aim of celebrating the world-class success of the North’s education sector and to encourage excellence, achievement, and improvement across a range of special categories.

Myerscough was named Further Education College of the Year in 2022.
