Myerscough Principal inspires next generation on International Men’s Day
Published: Friday 21 November 2025The career of the Principal of Myerscough College has been used to inspire pupils at a primary school in Fleetwood as part of International Men’s Day.
Principal and Chief Executive Wes Johnson spent time with students at Charles Saer Community Primary School, and from the session, the pupils collated a special display detailing his career, showcasing him as an inspirational role model.
The display was then taken to an event to mark International Men’s Day at County Hall in Preston, organised by the Lancashire Professional Development Service.

Keynote speeches from inspirational men from Lancashire County Council reminded pupils taking part about important messages like being kind, striving for success and looking out for each other.
Here, the children were given the opportunity to share their learning about Wes to many other schools in Lancashire, learning about other male role models in the community and beyond, and begin to explore what their future could look like in their career.
A spokesperson for Charles Saer School said: ‘’The boys were given the opportunity to participate in workshops and learnt about new career paths which they would like to pursue.
‘’A very inspiring day for these young boys and they cannot wait to share their learning with the rest of our pupils.’’
It’s hoped to welcome the group for a return visit to Myerscough in the spring.
