Myerscough learners shortlisted in Grounds Management Association’s Industry Awards
Published: Monday 15 December 2025Several Myerscough College sportsturf apprentices have been named as finalists in the Grounds Management Association’s (GMA) Industry Awards.
In the Young Grounds Person of the Year category, Adam Hooper and Flynn Good have both been nominated. They are part of the grounds teams at Tottenham Hotspur and Leicester City respectively and have both recently completed Level 2 Sportsturf Operative apprenticeships.
In the Newcomer of the Year category, current Level 2 Sportsturf Operative apprentice Samuel Knowles has been nominated. Samuel is part of the grounds team at Nottingham Forest.
Also, many employers have been shortlisted who have embraced apprenticeships and other work-based training with Myerscough College, and have learners active or in the onboarding process.
These employers include the University of Warwick, Liverpool FC, Edgbaston Priory Club, The All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, Warwickshire CCC, Bristol Bears, Northampton Saints, Lincoln City FC, Leicester City FC, Manchester City FC, and The London Stadium.
Each year, the awards shine a spotlight on the individuals, teams and organisations who are raising standards across the industry.
The finalists were selected following a thorough judging process, undertaken by a panel of sector experts who reviewed entries across sixteen categories.
Jason Booth, GMA Chief Operating Officer said: "It has been inspiring to once again see the dedication shown by so many teams and individuals submitting entries for the GMA Industry Awards.
"This year we received a record number of submissions, and the calibre of work on display has been outstanding.
‘’It’s been particularly encouraging to welcome fresh faces into the mix. I would also like to thank our independent judging panel for their expertise and considered evaluation of each submission."
This recognition is not only a testament to the hard work and talent of our learners but also highlights the exceptional training and support provided by Myerscough College.
