Thursday 1 May

Our Chief Executive and Principal, Wes Johnson, has been appointed a Deputy Lieutenant of Lancashire.

Wes Johnson At Desk

Wes has been appointed by the current Lord-Lieutenant of Lancashire, Mrs Amanda Parker JP, and will join the existing team of Deputies to help and support the Lord-Lieutenant in her duties as His Majesty the King’s representative in the county of Lancashire.

These duties can include arranging visits by members of The Royal family and presenting medals and awards on behalf of The King.

The Office of Lord-Lieutenant is military in origin and dates from the reign of Henry VIII when the holder was responsible for the maintenance of order and for military purposes relating to local defence.

Lord-Lieutenants are His Majesty’s personal representative in a county or area.  Their prime duty is to uphold the dignity of the Crown, through the administering of key events.

We congratulate Wes on his prestigious appointment.
