Published: Wednesday 16 July 2025Myerscough College is proud to announce the launch of its first integrated degree apprenticeship programme.

Available from September, the Level 6 Professional Arboriculturist Apprenticeship, integrated with a BSc (Hons) in Arboriculture and Urban Forestry, marks a significant milestone in Myerscough’s long-standing commitment to land-based education and apprenticeships.
With more than 131 years of experience delivering industry-relevant training, Myerscough College continues to evolve to meet the changing needs of employers and professionals.
This new apprenticeship has been designed in collaboration with industry leaders and employers, ensuring that graduates are equipped with the skills, knowledge and behaviours required to thrive in the arboriculture and urban forestry sectors.
Delivered entirely online over four years, the programme offers flexibility for working professionals, with the exception of a one-week intensive study session on campus between years three and four.
Apprentices will benefit from expert-led modules and receive ongoing support from a dedicated progress coach, ensuring a high-quality learning experience throughout their journey.
Paul McGrail, Executive Director of Apprenticeships, said: “We’re excited to offer this innovative pathway that blends academic excellence with practical industry engagement.
“This programme reflects our dedication to supporting the next generation of arboriculture professionals, and ties in with our wider trees and timber strategy."
The new apprenticeship is offered alongside existing online degree level options in the sector, including a FdSc Arboriculture and Tree Management, and both the BSc (Hons) and the MSc in Arboriculture and Urban Forestry.
Myerscough also offers a range of arboriculture options at further education/school leaver level, including a T Level in Tree and Woodland Management and Maintenance, and a Level 2 City & Guilds Technical Certificate.
Applications for the Level 6 apprenticeship are now open for the September 2025 intake.
