More than 100 students from our Preston, Liverpool & Warrington campuses can now continue their journey in the greenspace sector armed with skills, passion, and knowledge to shape a more sustainable future, thanks to their Royal Horticultural Society qualification.

Some of the cohorts’ excellent success stories have been celebrated with special internal awards, and among some of the standouts who went above & beyond are:

Dan Steel, who was named our Horticulturist of the Year after achieving top marks in his RHS Level 2 Principles and Practical Certificate. Dan also recently was awarded a prestigious Gold medal for his orchid collection at the Chorley Flower Show, and also helped build a garden that was awarded a Silver Gilt at the RHS Garden Wentworth.

Jennifer Lang was named the recipient of the Our Biggest Bloom award. Jennifer started her RHS programme with a keen interest in horticulture, but with no experience. She completed her course with a Distinction, proof that passion and determination bloom into success through hard work.

Meanwhile, Julia Barker was named our Garden Designer of the Year. She led her classmates in a showcase at Myerscough’s Open Day and Country Fair in June, having designed, built and grew her design from the ground up. She is now running her own thriving business in Lytham.

From record-breaking results to career-ready graduates, Myerscough students are planting the seeds of a greener tomorrow.

If you’re over 18, you can apply for a RHS programme to achieve a certificate in either Practical Horticulture or Plant Growth and Development.
