
GRADUATION 2025: Myerscough celebrates student success as new Honorary Fellowship awarded
Published: Saturday 12 July 2025Myerscough College and University Centre has celebrated student success of the last academic year with a special degree graduation ceremony.

Myerscough’s degree students completing their study programmes in 2025 have been recognised for their achievements, while further education students at a number of Myerscough’s centres have also been celebrated at their own special ceremonies.

Wes Johnson, Chief Executive and Principal of Myerscough College and University Centre said: ‘’Today is a day to celebrate, to recognise the hard work and commitment that has gone into the past years and to congratulate all our students on their successes. It is a time for every student to walk tall, smile and shine as they walk across the stage and proudly graduate from University Centre Myerscough.
‘’Today is also an opportunity to thank parents, families, friends for their contribution to this achievement. On behalf of the students and Myerscough I would like to personally thank you all for the part you have played in supporting our students.''

Myerscough is also delighted to announce the awarding of its latest Honorary Fellowship.
David Hall has accepted the highest honour that the College can bestow.
He has now been inducted into Myerscough’s elite group of inspirational people and join a very exclusive club that contains names from the world of business, sport and entertainment.
David Hall
David has lived his entire live at Cherry Clough Farm in Denshaw, Saddleworth, and has a highly distinguished career in the agriculture sector.
A pupil of Rishworth School, David is a former student at Myerscough, and his career began here at Myerscough as a lecturer in Business, which developed into a project managing role in our Rural Business Centre.
After a seven-year spell with Myerscough, David then began a journey that would see him become a leading light in the agriculture sector over the last three decades.
David left his position of Skills Development Manager to take up a role as a regional manager for European Farming and Food Partnerships. Here, he worked across many sectors including, horticulture, dairy and cereals.

From here, his career took him next to a role as Regional Manager in the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (the AHDB), where he oversaw the interests of beef and lamb farmers, growers and others in the supply chain, helping to create a world-class food and farming industry across Britain.
Since 2015 David has been Regional Director, firstly for the North West and currently for the whole of the North of England and Wales, at the National Farmers Union, the NFU, the body who represent the interests of tens of thousands of British workers within the agriculture industry.
Under David’s leadership and guidance, as the voice of British farmers, the NFU has championed agriculture and horticulture, keeping key issues in the media spotlight, a tirelessly campaigning for a stable and sustainable future for British farmers, and striving for the best possible deal for their members, for both now and in the future.
David is also part of our governing body here at Myerscough, in his role as a governor of the Myerscough Corporation, helping to shape our current and future direction, quality and efficiency of our institution.
