Future coaches: Cricket students spend winter gaining knowledge to grow game
Published: Wednesday 28 January 2026Myerscough College cricket students have been spending the last few months gaining an essential ECB coaching qualification.
The group of second year Level 3 learners have spent the last 15 weeks preparing to be assessed for their ECB Core Coach qualification, recognising the commitment and professionalism they have shown throughout the programme so far.
Alongside their academic studies and pre-season preparation for their overseas tour to Dubai in the spring, students have spent the winter working towards their coaching certification.
Over the past 15 weeks, they have been supported by expert coach educators from the Lancashire Cricket Foundation, developing the knowledge, practical coaching skills and professional behaviours required to become effective cricket coaches.

With this qualification, Myerscough learners are well prepared to support cricket provision, contribute to the growth of the game within their local communities and clubs, and work with the Foundation this summer across a wide range of programmes.
This achievement reflects their dedication, adaptability and ambition, and we look forward to seeing the positive impact they will make within the game.
