Announcement: Open Day 2022

It’s with regret that we announce we will not be proceeding with our traditional Open Day and Country Fair in 2022.
For many years, the event has been one of Lancashire’s premier summer days out, and after an enforced break due to the pandemic, we were really excited and hopeful of hosting our first event since 2019, where in excess of 14,000 people flocked to our main Bilsborrow campus to enjoy hundreds of attractions for all the family. The 2019 event was named a finalist in the Lancashire Tourism Awards.
Unfortunately, a combination of factors means that staging the very best event that we possibly can this year is just not viable or practical.
Staging an event of such magnitude takes many months of careful planning, involving many Myerscough staff, students and a host of external providers. The uncertainty surrounding the coronavirus pandemic, coupled with illness and the retirement of key organising staff, plus the reduced availability of attractions and the infrastructure required, means that any event we would stage, wouldn’t be of the exceptionally high standard that both ourselves and our patrons expect.
All advanced ticket holders will be contacted separately via our ticket provider to process refunds. You do not need to contact us.
Instead, we are excited to share with you that we will be holding a Course Advice Day and Applicant Showcase on the same day, Sunday June 12th.
This will be a free event, open to all current applicants, in addition to anyone else who’s considering applying for September 2022 or 2023 entry. Subject areas will be open for taster sessions, with the chance to chat to academic staff, find out more about accommodation, transport and finance, and much, much more.

Once again, we apologise if you were looking forward to a great day out this year. We invite you to ‘save the date’ of Sunday, June 11th, 2023, where initial planning is already underway to stage the Open Day and Country Fair we all know and love.
