Introduction: A detailed look at practices, methods and maintenance of turf grassed areas. The course provides a good basic understanding and knowledge of established turf and fine turf practices that will be suitable for anyone looking to improve the appearance of grassed areas, whether private gardens or larger commercial locations. Subjects covered on the day include - Common and suitable grasses, Soil structure and PH, Nutrients and fertilisers, Weed and pest control, Turf diseases, Aeration and topdressing, Machinery setup, and maintenance.
Entry requirements & additional information
There are no formal entry requirements. The teaching is mainly based in a classroom although there will be some work around campus looking at practical examples of the theory information.
