About the course

This 1 day course costs £250. The course covers the safe operation and maintenance of Brushwood Chipper machines. Candidates will be instructed to the level expected to gain the competence in the City and Guilds Level 2 Award in the Safe Use of a Manually Fed Wood-chipper. Elements covered include: Legistation covering wood-chipping operations Risk assessment Emergency planning when using the machine including working near highways Pre-start checks and machine maintence Machine operation The fees include NPTC City & Guilds administration, registration and assessment charges. Re-test fees are not included

There are no pre-requisites for this course.
You will complete a formal assessment at the end of your training day.
PPE Safety Helmet - Groundwork (HSE Recommended EN 397 with ear protection to EN 352 -3 & mesh visor to EN 1731) (Not exceeding 3 years old) Heavy duty work gloves and trousers Toe protecting work boots or Chainsaw Boots (HSE Recommended to EN 381-3) (Spats are not suitable for College training) Other Suitable non snag outdoor clothing including waterproofs, you should be prepared for all weather conditions. Hi visibility vest (short sleeved is acceptable) Additional Information The above PPE, chainsaw, equipment etc. must be provided by the candidate attending
