Agricultural Engineering

Agricultural engineering focuses on the development, operation, maintenance, and testing of highly specialised machinery that underpins modern farming and land-based industries. As equipment becomes more advanced, there is an increasing need for skilled operators who can work safely, efficiently, and in line with current legislation and industry best practice.

Our agricultural engineering short courses are designed to give learners the practical skills, confidence, and recognised qualifications needed to operate key machinery. We offer a range of industry-standard training, including NPTC Tractor Driving and ATV (All-Terrain Vehicle) courses, covering both sit-astride and side-by-side vehicles. These qualifications are widely recognised and often required by employers to meet health and safety obligations.

Training takes place in our state-of-the-art Engineering Centre, providing the ideal environment for hands-on learning and the development of mechanical expertise. Learners benefit from access to modern equipment and experienced instructors who bring extensive industry knowledge into every session. Courses can also be delivered to employee groups in the workplace.

Our experienced staff deliver training across a wide range of land-based machinery, offering both accredited courses and bespoke training packages tailored to employer or group needs. This includes (but is not limited to):

  • Tractor operation and maintenance
  • ATV (sit-astride and side-by-side) safe use
  • Forklift and telehandler operation
  • Dumper truck training
  • 360 excavator operation
  • Hagglund and skid steer training

Courses are suitable for those working in agriculture, estates, groundcare, construction, and related industries, as well as individuals looking to gain new practical skills or formal certification. Key areas covered include safe operation, pre-use checks, hazard awareness, and compliance with current health and safety legislation.

Whether you are starting out, refreshing your skills, or meeting employer training requirements, our short courses provide a flexible and practical route to developing essential machinery competencies.
