About the course
This is a Level 1 course for those interested in learning more about the sport organisations, qualifications and opportunities that exist to work within the sports industry. Myerscough College has already been delivering a very successful Level 2 and Level 3 suite of Sports programmes, and this course complements the existing courses, offering an entry point for those students who are best suited to join the college at Level 1. Myerscough has got excellent links with various partners we work with such as, Sale Sharks, Lancashire Golf, Basketball England, Preston North End and Lancashire County Cricket Club. Our high-quality sports performance facilities will help the students in their personal and physical development. All the units are aimed at developing the individual and increasing their work / life chances. Progression to a Level 2 Sport Studies course or Supported Internship would be the natural choice of next steps for a student who completes this course. The course focuses on a variety of sport and active leisure activities and helps the student to develop common, social and interpersonal skills. It also provides students with the basic practical sports skills and knowledge necessary to either progress for further training or to prepare for employment.
