Supported Internship Programme (DFN Project SEARCH)

About the course

This Supported Internship programme is specifically aimed at young people who want to move onto employment and need extra support to facilitate this. Supported internships are structured study programmes that are based primarily at an employer. They enable young people to gain the skills needed to be 'Job Ready'. Students complete a personalised study programme working towards gaining employment. The students will be mentored throughout the work placement by industry professionals and an experienced tutor/job coach. The students will complete daily training actioning the feedback provided by employers. Students will attend Ribby Hall Village five days a week in either Entertainment, Security, Greenspace, The Hive Bar and Restaurant and the Gym that includes Blend Coffee House and the pool.

Course Modules

No units are formally completed but key employability skills are developed in partnership with what the employer needs.

Entry requirements & additional information

Aged 16 - 24 With an Educational Health and Care Plan. This course is an exit from education and is therefore aimed at students who are showing the desire and commitment to gain employment either at Ribby Hall Village or another employer.
No formal assessments but the students are expected to reflect on the work that they complete and collect pictures as evidence. The students will also be expected to produce a presentation that will be presented to parents and managers at Ribby Hall - full support will be provided.
Students will have group sessions with the careers teams where they work on CVs, job searching and interview skills. Students who complete this course are expected to go into employment.
