Learning and assessment
The theory part of this course is delivered online by University Centre Myerscough online with Myerscough College semesters, and will require approximately 200 hours per module including self-study. This equates to approximately 14 hours per week for 60 weeks across the 2 years of the programme. Learning hours are flexible and apprentices will be expected to engage with all sessions.
There will also be distance learning support tutorials and mentoring activity throughout the programme. Workplace visits will also occur and these will be discussed at sign up. Attendance at the mandatory online lectures and tutorials will count towards the 20% off the job training requirement for the apprenticeship.
At a point where employer, tutor and apprentice feel is appropriate, apprentices will undertake an end point assessment, which is carried out by a separate approved organisation, independent from Myerscough College.
The end point assessment will contain 3 components:
o Practical assessment with questions
o Online multiple-choice knowledge tests
o Professional discussion underpinned by a portfolio of evidence
There will be 2 levels of achievement: Pass & Distinction
In the unlikely event of an apprentice needing to resit an End Point Assessment (or elements of the End Point Assessment), then the employer will be responsible for funding these additional costs
