About the course

The Emergency First aid at work qualification is the choice of many employers to ensure they are meeting the requirements of the Health and Safety (first aid) Regulations 1981 The QNUK Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF) is ideal for those that need first aid for their employment. This one day course is valid for three years. Course Content Understand the role and responsibilities of a first aider Be able to assess an incident Be able to provide First Aid to an unresponsive casualty Be able to provide First Aid to a casualty who is choking Be able to provide First Aid to a casualty with external bleeding Know how to provide First Aid to a casualty who is in shock Know how to provide First Aid to a casualty with minor injuries Know how to deal with a range of more serious injuries such as major bleeds or falls from heights.

Entry requirements & additional information

This qualification is aimed at those over 16 who are able to undertake the responsibilities associated with being an emergency first aider. Due to the language of the assessment, it is recommended that learners have sufficient command of the English language in order to understand the assessment and to undertake the recommended assessment methods. Attendees will be required to demonstrate First Aid procedures as they would in a real work environment. This includes providing CPR to a casualty who is on the floor, therefore be physically capable of doing so.
Learners are assessed for this qualification using the following methods: Multiple choice question paper Practical observation
This one day course is valid for three years.
Candidates will need to show a form of photograph ID at the start of the course. This will usually be a photograph driving licence; passport; student or employee ID. If no photo ID is available then two forms of non photo ID can be accepted.
