About the course
A one day course designed to suit newcomers to the development and management of woodland areas. Whether you have a wood of your own, or in the planning stages of planting, this course is designed to introduce you to the skills required. The need to care for your woodland areas is important which is done by using techniques such as tree planting methods, after care, woodland design, thinning and coppicing. Also covered are the equally important concerns of managing woods for wildlife, recreation and timber production. Fees Some applicants for this course may be eligible to apply for a Forestry Training Grant to cover these course fees. Please refer to the supplementary information tagged to this factsheet for further information. Please ensure you use the Forestry Training Fee rate NOT the headline booking rate (if different) when applying for the course or we will bill you for the additional amount. The amount for this course is £150. If your grant is approved please email [email protected]. Do not apply for the course using the online application system.
