About the course

This is the second stage of the Aspects of Canine behaviour course - this course is only open to students who have successfully completed stage one. The topics below are examples of what the course may cover but students who have already completed stage one know that the course can be fluid and work to the needs of the group. Stage two will look deeper into subjects already covered in stage one and adds a new dimension in understanding dog behaviour - for example it will examine dogs� emotions, memory and motivation. Canine enrichment and training and how to utilise the dog�s senses. The course will look further into aspects of canine behaviour and communication. With practical sessions on canine communication, also by observing and identifying behaviour in real life. The course will enable students to develop various behaviour modification programmes to change aggressive behaviour and the motivation for that behaviour. Develop a programme for a puppy�s successful socialisation and integration into the home and its environment. Students will be required to work together on problem solving workshops and bring results of those workshops to the main group. Course Fee - �295 10 Tuesday Evenings from 6.00 pm - 9.00 pm

Entry requirements & additional information

Via discussions on all aspects of the course with the tutor and completion of group and individual work set - assessment feedback will be provided by the tutor. There will be some practical work with dogs and constant feedback will be given.

Our Animal Studies Centre

Myerscough College’s Animal Studies Centre has tripled in size after the completion of a £3 million extension and major refurbishment. The new Animal Studies Centre features specialist classrooms, dedicated indoor and outdoor areas for different animal groups, as well as spacious private rooms, reception and study areas, all fully equipped with the latest I.T technology.

The Animal Studies Centre also offers a range of services to the public, from grooming and healthcare through to behaviour classes and hydrotherapy for injury recovery.
