Our Green Pledge
Myerscough College is deeply committed to implementing environmental sustainability to benefit the local economy and community as well as future generations. Sustainability has a significant role within the day to day operations across all our campuses and we endeavour to include sustainable development in all of our practices.
College travel plan
Our Travel Plan, updated annually contains measures and targets to reduce solo car usage and encourage more sustainable travel choices in order to contribute to the overall reduction of carbon emissions generated by travel to the University. Through the implementation of our plan, we are working hard to help make our University campuses a healthier and sustainable place in which to work, study or visit.

Safety, health and environment policies and performance
The University Safety, Health and Environment policy outlines our commitment to environmental protection and enhancement. The policy is implemented through our ISO14001 certified Environmental Management System.
This enables us to fulfil the environmental sustainability goals of the Strategy 2015-2020 designed to achieve a ‘transformational change of the Preston campus to provide an enhanced learning environment for the highest quality teaching, learning, research and knowledge exchange underpinned by a commitment to environmental sustainability’.
Senior management understand that the success of the policy is everyone’s responsibility. All colleagues are therefore required to complete the mandatory ‘Safety, Health and Environment Induction’ training course. In addition, all managers are required to undertake ‘Environmental Management for Managers’ which is delivered as part of IOSH Managing Safely to ensure that they understand their responsibilities and help create a safe, healthy and environmentally responsible campus.
