My career at Myerscough College – Empowering Futures

About the role

It’s time for a new challenge – and we want you to join us!

We’re always looking to the future and committed to shaping an exceptional learning experience for our students.

We have a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and skilled individual to join our Animal Studies team at our Preston campus.

As a Practical Skills Tutor, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, engaging practical teaching sessions that equip our students with the hands-on skills, knowledge and behaviours needed for progression into the animal care and management industry. You will work closely with academic staff to ensure practical and theoretical learning is integrated, supporting students at every stage of their journey.

You will also play a key role in maintaining resources to industry standards, promoting animal welfare, and fostering an inclusive and professional learning environment. You’ll inspire learners, help them develop their confidence and support their future careers.

Why join us?

At Myerscough College and University Centre we have a nationally and internationally recognised Further Education, Higher Education, Adult Education and Apprenticeship provision. The Further Education provision is well established, the Higher Education provision has a well-recognised partnership with UCLan and the apprenticeship provision is operational nationally. We offer a rewarding and enjoyable working environment, where colleagues are inspired to make a positive difference to the educational experience and employability of our students. We are one of the top five largest land-based and sports colleges in the UK.

We take care of our team just as we do our students. As an employee, you can enjoy a range of benefits, including:

  • A generous holiday allowance of 40 days, plus bank holidays.
  • Regular Continuous Professional Development (CPD) opportunities.
  • Hassle free onsite parking at our Preston Campus.
  • An Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) to provide wellbeing support in moments of need.
