Student Profile
John Harris - BA Hons Landscape
Increasing significance is being placed on the value
of landscapes as a resource that deliver a wide
range of environmental, social and economic
benefits. Landscape Management is concerned
with the development of management policies
and actions which conserve, enhance and maintain
landscapes for current and future generations.
Landscape Managers may have responsibility for
urban parks, nature reserves or industrial
landscapes.
Our degrees in Landscape Management offer students the opportunity to study and research a wide range of landscapes and landscape issues, as well as being able to specialise in their chosen topics. The courses focus primarily on landscape planning and its impact on landscape management operations and the skills involved in supervising and running contract work. Students will gain the knowledge and skills that a Landscape Manager needs to organise and implement management and maintenance operations for urban and rural landscapes.
In addition, students’ appreciation and understanding of policies for future management will be developed. You will learn the skills to formulate policies that take into account economic, legal, social, cultural and environmental considerations.
The courses are ideally suited for those people who are interested in a career in the landscape sector and wish to enhance their education and professional qualifications.
