Instructor/Technician in Special Education Needs (Animal Welfare)

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Foundation Learning Team at Myerscough College. The person appointed will be primarily responsible for the day to day welfare of all the animals in Foundation Learning and work in conjunction with the teaching staff and the demands of the Animal Studies curriculum.  This role will provide practical instruction to learners with special educational needs around animal care and welfare to expected industry standards.  The successful candidate must have a Level 3 FE Animal Welfare qualification, GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English, Grade C or above along with a Preparatory Certificate in Education and Training (formally PTLLS) or Assessor Training Assessment Quality Assurance (TAQA) qualifications, or be willing to undertake within an agreed time period.  Significant industry experience within the animal sector is also required. Hours are 30 per week to include weekend working on a rota basis.

Salary: £16,960 - £20,657 per annum pro rata relating to qualifications and experience.
