The awards are aimed at businesses which are located or deliver services within the Wyre area, and aim to celebrate success stories and promote excellence within the county.

Myerscough has been shortlisted in the category of Rural Business of the Year ahead of the ceremony at Marine Hall, Fleetwood on Thursday, November 29th.

Myerscough’s nomination comes on the back of another year of phenomenal success, including in the last twelve months – the completion of a £30 million campus development programme, 98% of learners moving to employment or further study within six months of graduation, high student satisfaction, and a string of other awards and nominations. In addition, the annual Open Day & Country Fair is as popular as it’s ever been and attracted upwards of 12,000 people, boosting the local economy and making it widely regarded as one of the county’s premier summer tourism events.

Last year Myerscough received two accolades at the Wyre Business Awards.

Myerscough’s Open Day and Country Fair was given a Special Recognition Award in the category of Event of the Year, while, a Commitment to Education Award, went to former Principal, Ann Turner, who was recognised for her significant contribution to the sector, including 12 years in charge of the College.

Councillor Michael Vincent, Portfolio Holder for Planning and Economic Development at Wyre Council, said: “It’s our fifth year and it’s going to be the biggest and best event yet. Wyre represents businesses of all shapes and sizes and we want to showcase those and celebrate in the biggest business event in Wyre.”

‘’The Wyre Business Awards gives businesses a chance to promote their achievements, raise their profile and gain the recognition they deserve.’’
