The team competed in five matches at the event and won all of them to take the title for the first time.

The tournament win caps another great season for the girls, with successes including a third place finish in the AoC, Social League runners up, Intra-College Netball Tournament runners up, Northern Counties Champions and Malta Tournament Champions.

The team was also honoured to play two friendly matches against the Maltese National Squad earlier this year.

Emily Hallett is Myerscough Ladies Netball Club captain and said: “I'm very proud of how all the squad put 110% into playing, supporting and having a great time.

This was rewarded with winning all our matches to become champions!  All the ladies had a great time and it's good to see students from the past and present coming together as one unit. On behalf of the squad, I would like to say a huge thank you to the organisers of ‘Summer Social’ for such a fantastic weekend and also to our Coach Jo Chadwick, for creating the successful netball team we are today. We can't wait for our next tournament and for the next season to start.”

Charlie White, Myerscough Netball Ambassador, said:“I, along with many of the girls, feel that the social aspect of the tournament brought the ladies and college players closer as a team. I'm so proud of all of the girls for playing so well together, considering many haven't met before, to overall win the trophy! It was a fun, challenging tournament against lovely teams.

It was a great experience to be a part of the team to win the trophy for the first time in London.”
