Wood Turning - Writing Pens

About the course

This course is generally designed for the candidate with some experience of turning or has already attended on a previous College wood turning course.

Candidates will be instructed and shown how to safely operate the lathe with the aim of producing 2 quality writing pens.

Both the wood and acrylic pens can be taken home at the end of the day with no additional charge. The material costs are included within the course fee

  • Workshop safety & Familiarisation
  • Pen making demonstration inc. manufacturing and turning
  • Turning your pens!
  • Sanding and finishing
  • Leave with 2 of your own turned Pens (wooden and acrylic)

Additional Information

(Please note this course is not held at the Myerscough College, Bilsborrow campus)

All tools, materials and tuition will be provided by WOOD AND STUFF LTD at their specialist training workshop in Lytham

Lunch is not provided. Please bring a packed lunch or to note that there is a McDonalds and Lidl store within walking distance of the venue

Students are expected to wear suitable clothing (not loose fitting) or a specialist apron, suitable footwear (not canvas or open-toed). Loose fitting jewellery to be removed.
