Intermediate Wood Turning - Weekend Course TEST

About the course

This course in woodturning has been developed to take students with some experience in

woodturning to a stage where they can use more advanced techniques.

Students will be expected to have either attended a Novices’ Course, or have their own lathe and be reasonably proficient in spindle work.

Over the weekend you will be instructed and shown how to use more advanced tools / techniques, such as the skew chisel, for grooving, plaining and possibly some beading, depending on ability. We will introduce you to the requirements of tool sharpening, including different tool grinds and their uses (no student practice is possible for tool sharpening).

All the projects pieces made can be taken home at the end of the course with no additional charge.

At the end of the course, students should have gained sufficient knowledge to competently and safely use woodturning tools at home. In doing so students can produce products for their own use or for resale as required.

The course is delivered in partnership with Wooden Stuff Ltd. Lytham, Lancashire http://
