Brief Description of the Course:
This course provides the training and support to enable learners to demonstrate their digital competency. It will help learners progress into a work role where digital skills are required or support them with the digital expectations of every day life.
An interest in gaining / improving digital competency that could be applied to a wide range of situations.
The course consists of 5 units:
Safety when using a Digital Device
Communication using a Digital Device
Word Processing Software
Using a Computer
Developing Digital Career Skills
Learning and Assessment:
This course is delivered online.
The introductory session at the beginning of the course is delivered online and provides learners with clear instructions as to how they can access the online learning materials and submit work for assessment. Some learners will complete the whole course independently whereas others may wish to use the online tutorial sessions delivered by the tutor to support their studies.
All units must be successfully completed within 12 weeks of the start date however learners may wish to work through this qualification in a shorter time.
Costs that are mandatory for the course:
19+ students are funded through the Adult Education Budget so there are no tuition fees.
Costs that are optional for the course:
None – this course is free to all eligible learners. We will ask for some income evidence to secure your funding if you earn below £18 135 (Liverpool City Region Applicants) or £17004 (all other applicants). Earning above this threshold will not impact on the cost of the course.
There are a range of vocational and online courses available at the College, the digital skills learnt on this course will enable you to access a wide range of opportunities.
