Are you someone who loves natural surroundings, combining trees, plants and the colour of flowers with everyday life? Do you dream of designing beautiful landscapes? Have you got the creative talent but lack the professional training? Would you like to start a career in designing gardens but don’t have the necessary qualification?

Are there any entry requirements?
There are no formal entry requirements other than an interest in the subject area
What will the course involve?
During the course you will learn a wide range of horticultural skills; from establishing plants and managing plant displays to turf maintenance and designing landscape plans
The course provides a range of “industry tickets”, enabling you to kick-start your career or become self-employed. These include City & Guilds Awards in Brush Cutters and Trimmers, Pedestrian Controlled Mowers as well as an NCFE Award in Digital Promotion for Business
How long will I be learning?
Course Length: 5 Weeks
Start Date: Monday 20th May 2019
· Monday 1pm to 5pm
· Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 9am to 5pm
· Friday 9am to 1pm
What equipment will I need?
Sensible outdoor clothing is required for practical work. Steel toe-cap boots/wellingtons are essential and overalls are recommended for practical sessions.
Students should also have suitable waterproof clothing for wet weather.
What can I expect to learn from this course?
During this 5 week programme, you will achieve the following:
· Level 3 Units in Horticulture: Establish and Manage Exterior Plant Displays; Maintain Turf
in Parks and Gardens; Prepare Landscape and Garden Design Briefs
· Level 2 Award in Brush Cutter and Trimmers
· Level 2 Award in Pedestrian Controlled Mowers
· Level 2 Award in Digital Promotion for Business
