About the course
Brief Description of the Course:
This qualification consists of 3 units, or ‘practical skills’. This course is ideal for those joining a horticultural qualification for the first time. After successfully completing this course most students progress onto the City and Guilds Level 1 Certificate in Practical Horticulture Skills.
Entry Requirements:
Just a keen interest in horticulture and gardening.
Course Units:
Prune deciduous shrubs flowering on current seasons growth
Care for a planted area
Propagate by stem cuttings
Learning and Assessment:
Every student builds up a portfolio of evidence, which is a record of the practical assessments that have been completed. Student’s practical skills are assessed through the observation of practical work and assessor questioning confirms their understanding.
