Advanced Apprenticeship in Floristry

About the course

This programme is suitable for those employed in a supervisory capacity within the sector, seeking to progress to a higher level of qualification.

Venue

Work Based blended delivery programme consisting predominantly of on-site training and assessment within the workplace, supported by off-site technical training at local training and assessment venues as required. Course teaching, learning and assessment is enhanced through the effective use of e portfolio and distance learning resources to ensure flexible delivery is responsive to learner, employer and situational needs.

Programme Length

Work-based delivery over a minimum * of 18 months, dependent on initial assessment.

*Minimum durations apply for 16 – 18 year olds. 19 + learners can apply for accredited prior learning which may reduce the duration. Funding rules dictate a minimum of 12 months duration.

Level 3 Diploma In Workbased Floristry

Knowledge Qualification: ·

Competence Qualification

Negotiate and agree terms and conditions for the sale of floristry products and services

Plan, assemble and evaluate diverse tied floristry designs

Plan, assemble and evaluate diverse floral designs for weddings

Plan, assemble and evaluate diverse funeral designs

Promote, monitor and maintain health, safety and security of the workplace

Manage your own resources

Building working relationships with customers

Resolve customer service problems

Manage the environmental impact of work activities

Maintain the availability of goods for sale to customers in a retail environment

Organise the delivery of reliable customer service

Entry requirements & additional information

Entry requirements

Entry onto the apprenticeship is subject to a thorough initial assessment to clarify course appropriateness. Entrants must have the ability to achieve Level 2 Functional Skills in English and Mathematics and be able to cope with the Level 3 vocational qualification. Apprentices must have a contract of employment working for a minimum for 30 hours/week.

Progression

Apprentices successfully completing the Advanced Apprenticeship have opportunities to progress within the industry by continuing onto into Higher Education.

Careers

Typical jobs apprentices will be able to progress onto on completion of the Intermediate will depend on the qualifications and experience gained, but could include a range of roles within the floristry industry such as florist.
