About the course

This short course is designed to help you to understand what you should be feeding your horse, if you do not have your own horse you will gain an understanding of the art of feeding horses for various life stages and work requirements. Nutrients and their function will also be covered as will ensuring you are feeding your horse a balanced diet.

Mostly classroom based activity with some practical involving the weighing of horses.

Pen / Pencil and paper for taking notes.

Yard clothes and suitable boots.

Increased knowledge and therefore confidence in the processes involved with feeding horses.

How to plan a diet for horses taking into consideration condition, workload and age. The functions of nutrients.
