Machine Sewing - Intermediate Course

About the course

Introduction:

This 4 Week course has been designed for students already having some knowledge of sewing or for those who have completed the beginners course.

How long is the course?

4 Weeks

What will the course involve?

Week 1 – Produce a set of templates and make a round pouffe (footstool). This will include making bespoke piping and inserting it in the top seam of the pouffe.

Week 2 – Produce a set of templates and make a gardening apron with adjustable neck strap, various pockets and a detachable kneeling pad. You will use ‘D’ rings and an open-ended zip.

Weeks 3 & 4 – Produce a set of templates and make a lined knapsack with 1 internal pocket and 1 external pocket, plus adjustable straps. You will attach eyelets and cording to close the top as well as straps and buckles to flaps.

What equipment will I need?

Students will be expected to bring their own electric sewing machine. A list of materials will be sent out prior to attending the course.

What course work will I be expected to complete?

Some preparation and completion work will be undertaken at home.
