There are no entry requirements for this course other than an interest in the subject area
What will the course involve?
During the course you will learn a wide range of tree management and pruning skills, to help you understand and carry out identification, planting and establishment of various trees and shrubs for forestry and arboriculture. The course also provides a selection on industry “tickets”, enabling you to kick-start your new career or become self-employed. These include Level 2 Awards in Chainsaw Maintenance, Chainsaw Use and Wood Chipper Operations
How long will I be learning?
Location: Preston Campus
Course Length: 5 weeks:
· Monday 1pm to 5pm
· Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 9am to 5pm
· Friday 9am to 1pm
Start Date: Monday 20th May 2019
What equipment will I need?
Steel toe-capped boots with good grip and ankle support
Outdoor clothing and waterproofs and good pair of gardening gloves
What can I expect to learn from this course?
During this 5 week programme, you will achieve the following :
· Level 3 Certificate in Arboriculture and Forestry
· Level 2 Safe Use of Manually Fed Wood Chipper
· Level 2 Award in Chainsaw Maintenance and Cross Cutting
