Introduction to Clicker Training

About the course

This workshop will tell you what clicker training is, what the uses are and how effective it is. The training will be transferable to other animals that you may have. You will be shown key principles to getting it right (timing, right reinforce, goals) and dealing with frustration. You will look at the science of the training - testing and evaluating performance. Find out what other methods come into place when clicker training animals - luring and shaping. Establish fluent behaviour from the click to a verbal or hand signal (command). Guinea pigs will be used in the demonstrations.

You'll develop a range of skills and have the opportunity to care for a range of animals including dogs, cats, rabbits and ferrets, farm animals, reptiles and amphibians and a range of invertebrates.
